Hi, my name is Jessica Reidt, I’m 19 years old and I am in the process of becomeing a full-time missionary. But there is so much more to the story than just that.

When I was in 7th grade I converted over to Catholicism after my dad had re-verted. After I converted my sister converted and then my youngest brother Joseph and my mom. After I had converted I felt for the longest time that God wanted me to become a nun(sister) and for the longest time I was sure that was what I was going to become. I guess God had other ideas.

For sometime I had wanted to go on a mission trip, but I was having a hard time finding a Catholic mission team. So my dad went on the computer and googled Catholic mission trips. The first thing that came up was Family Mission Company, which is a Catholic orginization and very family friendly. The next mission that they were going on was to India! India! I never even imagined going there. At all. I decided I wanted to go and I had less than a month to raise the money. Impossible right? Wrong! Through lots of prayer and fund raising through my church(Immaculate Heart of Mary) I was able to go! I was so excited to go and going was such a great experence for me! I saw things I never knew I would see and some things some people just should’nt see, but sadly do.

After I came back from India I knew then that mission work was what I wanted to do with my life. I felt so relieved and blessed to finally know after years of searching that this is what God wanted me to do with my life. And I knew that FMC was the place to go. After doing and intake in 2012 I started raising the money. Trust me it is a lot of money. With lots of prayers and faith in God I know it can happen and will.

So far the raising has gone good though things are little slow right now.

In September of 2013 I will begin my training and in 2014 I will begin my mission work.
